Here is everything you need to know about how a life coach counselor can support you:
What is a life coach counselor?
A life coach counselor is someone who has been trained in both counseling and life coaching and has the ability to support you with both methodologies.
What does a life coach counselor do?
Your hired professional can provide support in two ways:
1. Counseling – Through a form of talk therapy, a counselor can help you address traumatic experiences or emotional wounds (past tense) that may be causing you psychological damage. Many people who have a hard time functioning in the world by creating healthy relationships with intimate partners, their finances, or their body are generally suffering from some form of emotional trauma. A counselor can therefore help you address these issues.
2. Coaching – The main goal of a life coach is to help you identify what it is you want to create for yourself (future tense) by guiding you to commit to a set of goals and then build a strategy to complete these goals.
This type of professional is very powerful because they are able to support you with your past and your future all at once.
Do I need a life coach counselor?
Creating a successful life filled with happiness and abundance is going to take some work and therefore it is highly beneficial to seek outside support along your journey.
You could benefit from working with a professional if you are:
- Struggling with anxiety or depression
- Unsure on what you want to do with your life
- Having a hard time keeping healthy relationships
- Feeling overwhelmed and have a hard time making decisions in life
- Unhappy or dissatisfied with life
- Constantly making poor decisions or have bad habits
- Overweight and having a hard time with your health or relationship with food
Benefits of a life coach counselor
The main benefit of working with this type of professional is that you get a two in one type of service. If you sought out each service separately, not only would it cost you more money, but more time as well.
And because this type of expert is trained in both modalities, they are able to blend their work with you allowing more flexibility in your sessions.
Some other benefits include:
- Gain clarity so that you know what you want to accomplish
- Faster results so that you don’t have to struggle
- More focused so that you know what actions to take
- Improved quality of life so that you feel more joy
- More productive so that you get more done
- Move forward with your life and feel like you are progressing
- Make better decisions so you feel more confidence
- More energized so you can do more each day
- Overcome obstacles so that you no longer get stuck
- Reach your potential so that you know you are doing your best
- Become self motivated so that you don’t need others to help you

Life coach counselor reviews
Some aspects of program good, the meals are great, many of the recovery counselors are good, especially Kyle Rooks, but I would not recommend this facility. My son is doing very well, but not because of this program. My son was so heavily medicated during his stay, I didn’t even know who he was, they kept insisting he had a mental health illness, yet when I kept complaining about the side effects of the medication, they insisted they were right, and I wasn’t (I too work in healthcare). Once I left, I had him see another psychiatrist immediately, who was in complete disagreement with the medication given, my son was misdiagnosed. I do not believe they use best practices. I felt because I disagreed with their practice, which was not well rec’d. The family therapist I felt was judgemental, she needed to be seen and acknowledged as the “expert.” disrespectful to me. If you agree with everything they say and do, you’ll be fine, if you question their methods, like I did then you’re dismissed. On top of that they didn’t tell me the medication bill at the end of his 3 month stay was going to be $5000! I would not recommend this facility. As a side note, my son is on no medication and doing very well. It wasn’t easy, but sadly this was a lot of money spent, with a poor outcome.
She is equally comfortable in academe and in the school of life, has put into action her profound and thoroughly innovative vision for helping people change. The team she has assembled seems more than equal to the task. This group is an amazing resource for the LA area, the model could well change how healthcare is provided.
I was diagnosed with bipolar and PTSD and other problems, I was skeptical at first following this page, but I gave it a try and I’m grateful I did so. I have my own service dog named Hecate or “Hex” for short, and article about service dogs always make me happy because people start to learn the fundamentals of what a service dog is. I, myself, advocate for mental health awareness but also for service dogs. I am thankful for an amazing page that makes me comfortable to read and to relate to other people.
Hi I was diagnosed 2 years ago, it turned my world upside down, I have 2 girls and it’s been terrible for them to see me maniac, I spent last Xmas hospitalized. I hope they find at least better medication than the one available now. I had to leave too many things because of the disease. Bipolar, unipolar, dualpolar unusual, odd, weird, depressed. Yes these are, were, and or all have, will, or once could describe me or characteristics of my personality. But they are not defining descriptive words i would always use to describe me at all. I am a good person I’m a kind loving caring considerate person who has had hurdles to contend with obstacles to evaluate and each one of them educating & strengthening my perception of the world and those in it. I have learned so very muck about and within my self. I hope i have taught or helped at least one person understand or strengthen one thing or area or aspect somewhere some how along the way. We are what we are but i am not a diagnosis i am much more. I am Lisa! I am a sensitive mother full of love. I am me.
I am an Addiction treatment professional with over 25 years of experience treating substance abusing and chemically dependent teens, young adults and their families, and have been affiliated with the Muir Wood Adolescent Treatment Center since it’s inception a little over three years ago. I have found the program and their clinical staff to be among the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Muir Wood’s emphasis on creating individualized recovery plans based on state of the art, evidence based interventions provides families with a direction for healing the pain and consequences associated with the disease of addiction.
I have an arsenal of doctors who help me but I still struggle. Pets really help because they force me to get up and outside to care for them. Im finding the older i get the less my coping skills assist me though. I hope you find what works. Working out, yoga and Thai chi are good though my anxiety prevents me from joining. Good luck and be kind to yourself.
You need to get a good psychiatrist and have a lot of quiet time to relax, pray, read, listen to relaxing music, watch relaxing films, dance or do sport or other hobbies. Even if you are down try to get out and go for a walk. Write a diary or use a chart to monitor your moods and be very patient with yourself and remember all those people who love you. Refuse to give up however hard it is but persevere.
This page has help me a lot I have bi-polar type 2 and there are some day that I can even Stan to be around people and then when someone ask what’s wrong all I can tell them is I’m having a off day how do you tell someone what’s wrong with you when you don’t know or can’t put in to words I have always know I had bi polar but I just saw help for it a few months ago I have been on two different med and right know I’m off and I have to go back I can’t dile with this I felt like I had everything under control and now I don’t know but I just take it one day at a time
As a counselor who has worked in the addictions field for over 23 years I have the utmost respect for Muir Wood. I have referred many families to them and they have been treated with dignity and respect. They support the family throughout treatment and do exceptional work. I only make treatment recommendations to programs that I would feel comfortable sending my kids and friends to, and Muir Wood would be the one.
